Navigation on the lake

 The lake Maggiore (or Verbano) is 194 meters above sea level, it is the second bigger of Italy with 212 Kmq, the maximum width is 12 Km and it is 66 km long. Its coastal perimeter is of approximately 170 km. The maximum depth is 370 meters, while the average is approximately 175 meters. The waters of the lake have always been sailed. A particular facility has always been given by the winds, that have concurred developing sailing sports at all levels.
Today every important town is perfectly equipped in order to hold in docks and harbours the boats and the sails. Navigation on the lake with a motorboat is allowed, but it is better to inquire near the competent authority in order to verify obligations and/or limitations and the maximum precaution is recommended.
